There is a segregated mindset in Chicago. We seem to believe that the violence on the West Side of the city doesn’t impact the rest of Chicago. This mentality has made Chicagoans apathetic.

Every day we are faced with headlines about the violence and crime in our city, but to most of us it’s just that – a headline. It’s all too convenient not to think about the lives that are directly impacted by these stories. Lives like the children who seek protection and community at Off the Street Club.
